Entrepreneurship

Tonight I am attending my first seminar in support of Arbonne International. I've talked with many people who are in the business or know someone in the business (some I know well, others not so much). All have found great success at different levels. I also spoke to other folks who are in Network Marketing fields selling other types of products. I talked with my hair stylist and my esthetician about the produc themselves. Both are Aveda users but have not heard or read anything negative about Arbonne products. Out of the many people I spoke with and articles I've read, I only came across one negative comment about the quality of the products. Finally, I am a user of the product and have been for the past six months. I have seen great changes in my skin, especially wrinkles that were starting to appear due to age. With all that said...

I've decided to go for it an become a consultant.

I'm putting my all into growing my business. I will take as much training that is available to me, work out shifts with my husband to be with the kids (something like M/W is mine and Tue/Th is his and weekends are ours). I will attend networking meetings, use my breaks during my day job to make calls or send emails. I will do whatever it takes to reach the goal of leaving corporate america yet still make a very good salary and be available more for my children.

I'm very excited about this new path I'm paving in my life. My dream is that it is a very positive experience for me, those I meet, and most importantly my family. I hope to show my children that you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to.

  1. The biggest concern with Arbonne, and any MLM for that matter, is that it takes away time from your family and does not afford more time with the family. You'll be doing parties and consults at nights and weekends and, thus, removing yourself from family time and activities. At least 25 plus hours per week should be devoted to your business if you want to make some income from Arbonne (e.g. to earn $5,000 per annum as a business builder).

You'll find in your communication from potential clients that Arbonne products are equated with and are no better than one finds at CVS or Walgreens. The biggest consumer lament is that one is paying a premium price for Arbonne products because of the commission structure Arbonne has put in place for consultants and not because the products are of premium quality.

In the end you'll find you are a hamster on a wheel running in place to produce sales that do not equate to achievement in Arbonne but, rather, your efforts only serve to support your upline (e.g. RVP and NVP) and their sales growth and maintenance of their lifesyle. You'll be asked to 'Arbonnize' your home and sell products so as to put money into your upline's pocket, not yours.

  2. Thank you for that feedback. That's the beauty of blogging. As you are absolutely right about the time it will take me away from my family, my goal is that it one-day be my only source of income to spend MORE time with my family. A sacrifice that my husband and I talked at great length on.

As for the quality, we all have our opinions. I have been an avid Aveda user for years and and incorporated Arbonne into my regime over the past year. I find the quality to be the same and the price in line with Aveda and other top brands that you fine in top retail stores.

I do believe that I will reach the status of RVP or NVP as well and live that same lifestyle. I watched my dear friend do it which is another reason I am a believer. She is making over $20K per month now and started out just like me six years ago.

Thank you again for your comments.

  3. I would be very careful. I would not feel right representing that product, as I've told you before that my nurse esthetician (who worked for years on a burn unit) has told me about the damage that she has seen on skin from both Arbonne and Proactive.

Another thing to consider, in this economy people are not as able to afford higher priced items which, like the first commenter stated, are no better than what you can buy at a drugstore (perhaps worse).

I would just be very leery. I know a number of girls who sell Arbonne, and because there are so many of them it's harder to find new clients because the market is so saturated with sellers.
